Discover the Joy of Playing Rugby
Who
we are
We teach kids the FUNdamental skills necessary to safely play rugby where they will not only sharpen their skills as an athlete, they will learn the importance of teamwork, communication and supporting each other both on and off the pitch (field).
No experience is necessary or required — just a good attitude and hustle and we will do the rest. We love teaching new kids! We play "touch rugby" for the kids that are 8 years old and younger, and tackle for the 9+ year olds, and we coach and emphasize proper tackle technique and safety.
We are a Club (rather than a team) so kids from surrounding areas like Weatherford, Granbury, Azle, Fort Worth, and anywhere in Tarrant County or Parker County or close to Aledo that want to play rugby are welcome. Spread the word and let's grow the game!
Practices:
Every Thursday from 6pm - 7:30pm
From November 2nd - March 7th @ McAnally Middle School under the Lights!! (14700 Old Weatherford Rd, Aledo, TX 76008)
From March 8th - November 1st (during Daylight Savings Time) behind Annetta Elementary School (2533 W Farm to Market 5, Annetta, TX 76008)

Frequently Asked Questions
Is rugby experience required? NO!! We are geared toward teaching rugby to kids that have never played. We also encourage the parents to join in practice and learn the game.
Do you play tackle or touch (flag) rugby? We are currently playing touch / flag rugby for the kids ages 5-8, and are developing our tackle teams for the kids 9 and over.
How old does my kid need to be to play rugby? We have kiddos from ages 5 all the way up to 13, so no age minimum or maximum. Bring them out!!
Do girls play rugby? ABSOLUTELY!! Girls rugby is the fastest growing sport in America with tons of scholarships and even Olympic opportunities available. At least half of our current members are girls.
When does the Club meet for practice? We currently train at 6pm on Thursdays at McAnally Middle School (before the time change) and behind Annetta Elementary (after the spring time change). We may alternate between Wednesdays and Thursdays this spring, so keep an eye on the forum.
Do my kids need equipment to play? Not much! All they need are some running shoes, a good attitude and a mouthguard if they are playing tackle. We provide the rest.
Is there a minimum commitment to sign up? No! We know life is busy, so although we'd love to see your kids every week, bring them out as it works for their schedule and yours.
Does it cost money to sign up? No! At this time, we are covering the admin cost of running a Club, but we will ask for the parents to chip in as we start playing in tournaments.
Do you have swag for purchase? We currently have about 25 Aledo Youth Rugby balls, and we'd be happy to give your kiddo one to take home and practice with. Other swag to come.
What is the current schedule for the spring season? We are eyeballing January 10th, February 28th and March 14th for Youth tournaments in Fort Worth. More to come as the schedule is finalized by Texas Rugby.
Do my student athletes need to attend Aledo ISD to participate? NO! We are a Club in the eyes of Texas Rugby, not a Team, so anyone searching for Parker County Youth Rugby, Tarrant County Youth Rugby, Weatherford Youth Rugby, Granbury Youth Rugby, Azle Youth Rugby, Brock Youth Rugby, or Youth Rugby anywhere in the vicinity are welcome to join our practices AND to compete with us at tournaments! The more the merrier, and every kid will get playing time, guaranteed.
